Street Scene- 2 for the New Year

I’ve been a slacker in posting but that doesn’t mean I haven’t been keeping an eye out around town. Here are a couple bikes that I felt should make it onto the street scene (Amy, I know you recognize one of them, please elaborate in the comments section!).

Vintage Schwinn- All Chromed out in Jackson Ward

Surly Super Commuter – City Halls’ most difficult to steal bike.

  1. Hey thanks for sending a shout out on my Bike. I call it the Steel Albatross (steel does make it real). The rear rack and front wheel have been in operation for 20 years. Everything else has been devised by Chip at Pibbys. Chip speaks bike commuter. The lock is made in England, a Challenger D lock from the Squire Company. It is the best and probably heaviest
    lock in the world.

  2. The only thing I have to add about that Surly is that I parked next to it last Tuesday and the Novara water bottle, with the tag line “Never A Bad Day For A Ride” had about 2″ of frozen water in it. It was about 22 going to work and 15 coming home. Oh, that and the multitude of racks are to carry the owner’s fishing gear, as he is an avid fly-fisherman and goes on excursions by bicycle.
