Several weeks ago we were having thunderstorms every night it seemed. Even with weather happening daily (kinda works that way dosen’t it?) I rarely get caught out or forced not to ride the bike. More than anything I’ll take a break from riding due to heat and code orange air quality days more than rain. One day though this storm came barrelling through the James River Park with the force of a thousand chariots of Zeus himself. I found refuge under a deck and made do. As you gain confidence and experience in your abilities you will begin to feel less concerned at incovieniences such as these, but do not take these situations lightly as small mistakes can lead to big problems. Do as I did here and take a breather, enjoy the rain (or wind, or sleet, or hail) from as safe a location as possible and renew your journey when your safety is assured.
